First Purchase for Baby

I have to admit, I'm quite proud that I haven't gotten ahead of myself when it comes to buying anything for our little one. Maybe it's the fact that I am not really showing yet, we don't know the if we're having a girl or boy, or that I'm not in the nesting stage, but either way I have not had any desire to go shopping for any baby items.

My mom has been calling me on and off today as she spends time at a warehouse consignment sale in Oregon City of maternity and baby items. She picked me up some maternity clothes and asked my opinion on some other items. Is it weird that I have no opinion at this point? Coincidentally, Greg and I did pick up an item at Costco today that while not baby specific we bought it specifically to use for our baby.

I have thought enough about raising our child to know that I want to attempt making baby food myself. Costco had a $12 off coupon for the Magic Bullet, taking it down from $41.99 to $29.99. I figured it would be a good investment and who knows if I'll find a better price later on. Here's hoping this doesn't start a downward spiral of buying baby stuff!

Easter Weekend

This weekend was special for many reasons: first and foremost we got to celebrate our Lord and Savior conquering death! Second, I am officially in my 2nd trimester. And third, it was the first weekend in over 8 weeks that I have not felt sick (I pray that the morning sickness has come to an end).

On Saturday my mom, Katrina, Tyler, and I went to Portland to see the musical Wicked.

I will count this photo as my first official "belly shot." At 14 weeks, you can see that I don't have much to show in ways of progress yet... but I'm sure that will come soon enough. This is my only photo from the musical, they did not allow pictures in the seating area and I didn't have much motivation to take any other pics. For those of you interested in Broadway and musicals I definitely recommend Wicked! The music was great and it was a humorous production as well.

On Easter Sunday we attended church with Greg's sister Megan in Corvallis. She and her boyfriend go to Grace City Church and they held their service on OSU's campus for Easter. Greg's Mom and Stepdad came from Tillamook as well. The service was wonderful, and the worship was just what I needed. The most special part of all was a planned baptism they had at the end for ten of their regular attendees. However, they opened it up to anyone who decided to be baptized, I would guess a total of 30 people or so made a commitment to Christ through baptism... and Megan was one of them!

How special to be part of her spiritual journey! I was crying and and a complete mess by this point.

After church we had dinner at Megan's boyfriend Ben's apartment.

Greg and his Mom :)
The girls. Wish I would have checked the pic to notice Mona was blinking! Oh well.
It was a long busy weekend, but filled with family and I didn't get sick! Hope you all had a Happy Easter, He is Risen!
