A Few More Weddings

As I said in an earlier post, we have several weddings to attend this summer. Recently we went to Greg's cousin Sarahi's wedding and followed it up by attending his college roommate Marcus' wedding. I must not have been in much of a picture taking mood because I only snapped two photos.

Greg and I at his cousin's wedding.
Eric and Nikki (our next wedding to attend!) at Sarahi's wedding.

Marcus and his bride Brianne had a photo booth at their reception which was fun...

Both of the weddings were outdoors and luckily had shaded areas because it was a warm one! Even though it was a long day fitting two weddings in, it was a lot of fun to see family and friends.

The following weekend was my cousin Bryan's wedding. My family drove down for the occasion and it was great spending time with them. I did a much better job taking pictures at this wedding, so enjoy :)

Third Trimester and a New Rental

Well, here we are, 28 weeks and into the third trimester! I seriously cannot believe how fast time has gone by. I think the fact that I was nauseated for all of the first and part of the second trimester and I didn't start showing until week 20 or so, this all kind of crept up on me. However, now that the third trimester is here I have completely dived into the nesting phase.

On July 5th Greg and I decided to give our 30 day notice at our apartments and rent out my Aunt and Uncle's rental a few miles from where we live now. It all happened so quickly, the last week has been a complete whirlwind. The house is a three bedroom, two and half bath, and perfect fit for us. They negotiated our rent to be incredibly low for what the home is in return for us fixing up the place and taking care of yard work while we live there. It also gives them piece of mind knowing we will be responsible tenants.

Part of our "work" has been painting and cleaning the house to get it ready to move in. I have put in 40 hours of work at the house since last Monday, but it is coming together. My mom spent Monday evening through Thursday night helping me prime and paint the three bedrooms, the dining room, a dividing wall between the living room and kitchen, as well as a wall in the living room. There are still a few walls I want painted, but am a bit burnt out on painting at the moment.

My mother "Super Woman" who helped me all week and kept me motivated!
Still have a smile on my face, surprisingly... :)
More pictures of the new place to come soon!

4th of July

This 4th of July, Greg had to work so I decided to hang out with my aunt, uncle, cousin, and California friends. The little girl Emily had been dying to see the Lava house in Sisters so we made a day trip out of it. As an Oregonian I am still continually amazed at how beautiful our state is!

Little Fall Creek

My cousin Janell has some friends from California visiting so we have been trying to give them a taste of Oregon. They brought their fishing things so we went on an day of exploring up to Little Fall Creek only 15 minutes from where we live. It was a beautiful day for fishing and spending time outdoors.

Emily testing out the bait!

She was impressed with Uncle Leland's fishing skills

She's a natural!

Posing like I actually did some fishing ;)

Had to pretend I got a bite since there wasn't much action out there.

Emily was checking out the different fish she may catch while in Oregon

Cousins!

The Californians wanted pictures by the scenic covered bridge :)

Throwing Emily in!

I think she is enjoying her time in Oregon, we may decide to keep her here!
I have to add a little story to what seemed to be a fun, innocent fishing trip. We couldn't actually find a spot to fish so we stopped at the local store to ask for suggestions. The owner of the shop told us "Well, if you go about a mile down the road you'll see a red house that looks to be abandoned. If you pull in there, you will make your way down to the creek to an excellent fishing spot. Best spot in the country! But it is private property, so if anyone gives you any trouble just tell them I sent you."

Well, we found our way there and were enjoying our time until two guys came down to our fishing spot informing us that it was private property we were on. We explained that we had been directed there by the store owner and their reply was, "Oh, alright, well that's fine. But just don't wander over too far onto our neighbor's property. He grows marijuana for the state and we can't have people messin around over there." Okay then... good ole Oregon fishing experience!

Family Bridal Shower Fun

On Saturday I went to a bridal shower for my soon to be sister in law Nikki. She is marrying Greg's younger brother Eric on August 5th and Greg and I are both in the wedding so this will be the first of many Teune wedding festivities this summer.

The beautiful bride

With Greg's grandma Donna, stepmom Tina, and stepsister Jaime

With Greg's cousin Clarice who is expecting her daughter's arrival in a month! We had a lot of pregnancy/baby conversations during the shower.

With my soon to be sister in law and soon to be Aunt Nikki to our little girl :)

A few of the bridesmaids with the bride

My mother in law with her daughters. I think she is thrilled to have more girls around after raising three Teune boys.
At the shower, I realized that the next couple months will be very family packed. With wedding festivities and baby showers we will have a chance to celebrate a lot with one another! Hope you all had a great weekend and are enjoying our summer sunshine, finally!

Olympic Trials

Greg and I haven't seen much of one another the last couple of weeks due to me working at camps and the hotel being super busy with the Olympic Trials taking place in Eugene. I was thrilled when Greg came home with two free tickets to the trials for us to attend on Friday!

They had some pretty cool things set up throughout the area that were all connected with the trials, and of course since Nike was a huge sponsor we picked up a few souvenirs as well.

I couldn't pass up getting my picture in front of the double decker bus :) May be as close as I ever get to London myself.

We were able to watch part of the Women's Heptathlon. We saw the high jump as well as the shot put. Those women were so incredibly strong and talented.

We also got to watch five heats of the Men's 200m. Unfortunately, Greg had to get to work soon after that, but it was a fun "free" afternoon. I know it wasn't a typical free outing, but it motivated me to research and discover more things for us to do in our new home. Sad that it has taken me almost an entire year to do this, but I think our little girl and I will be in need of free entertainment and outings come next spring!

Baby Wonderings

I don't have much of anything happening that is blog worthy lately, but I have been having some random questions and thoughts pop into my head about our future as parents. Here are just a few that have crossed my mind lately:

1:     Is it bad that I am annoyed by the toddler who lives in the apartment above us? I find myself cringing when I hear her cry or whine. Then I am hit with the sudden realization that we are going to be the ones with an annoying crying newborn soon. I feel like I should give my neighbors an apology note before the baby is even born.

2:     My mother and aunt have advised me to start "toughening up" my nipples by drying them roughly with the towel when I get out of the shower, and also sunbathing topless this summer. I can't help but wonder if it is really going to lessen the pain of breast feeding all that much, or if I am torturing myself for nothing?

3:     I have still be able to continue my workouts of yoga, zumba, and jogging. Although, my workouts are either modified or much slower than before I was pregnant. I had the opportunity to jog on a track the other day instead of the sidewalk like I do when I am home. The difference with the track was that I was able to actually see what distance I had gone in the time that I normally jog for. I am "running" 12 minute miles, which is depressing because in my last half marathon my first five miles were at 8 minute pace. It is difficult for me to change my mindset of working out for results to working out just to stay healthy on the inside.

4:     While working at a basketball camp the last couple of weeks I had my first experience of people doing things for me because I am pregnant such as carry something that is "heavy", letting me cut in line for food, or giving up a seat for me to sit in. I was surprised that I didn't much like those privileges (except for the being able to sit down part). I appreciated the sentiment, I just didn't feel like it was necessarily appropriate. I still feel like I can carry things and I don't need to be fed ASAP. I guess I am only 25 weeks along and may feel differently in a month or so though.
