I have to admit, I'm quite proud that I haven't gotten ahead of myself when it comes to buying anything for our little one. Maybe it's the fact that I am not really showing yet, we don't know the if we're having a girl or boy, or that I'm not in the nesting stage, but either way I have not had any desire to go shopping for any baby items.
My mom has been calling me on and off today as she spends time at a warehouse consignment sale in Oregon City of maternity and baby items. She picked me up some maternity clothes and asked my opinion on some other items. Is it weird that I have no opinion at this point? Coincidentally, Greg and I did pick up an item at Costco today that while not baby specific we bought it specifically to use for our baby.
I have thought enough about raising our child to know that I want to attempt making baby food myself. Costco had a $12 off coupon for the Magic Bullet, taking it down from $41.99 to $29.99. I figured it would be a good investment and who knows if I'll find a better price later on. Here's hoping this doesn't start a downward spiral of buying baby stuff!

Easter Weekend
This weekend was special for many reasons: first and foremost we got to celebrate our Lord and Savior conquering death! Second, I am officially in my 2nd trimester. And third, it was the first weekend in over 8 weeks that I have not felt sick (I pray that the morning sickness has come to an end).
On Saturday my mom, Katrina, Tyler, and I went to Portland to see the musical Wicked.
I will count this photo as my first official "belly shot." At 14 weeks, you can see that I don't have much to show in ways of progress yet... but I'm sure that will come soon enough. This is my only photo from the musical, they did not allow pictures in the seating area and I didn't have much motivation to take any other pics. For those of you interested in Broadway and musicals I definitely recommend Wicked! The music was great and it was a humorous production as well.
On Easter Sunday we attended church with Greg's sister Megan in Corvallis. She and her boyfriend go to Grace City Church and they held their service on OSU's campus for Easter. Greg's Mom and Stepdad came from Tillamook as well. The service was wonderful, and the worship was just what I needed. The most special part of all was a planned baptism they had at the end for ten of their regular attendees. However, they opened it up to anyone who decided to be baptized, I would guess a total of 30 people or so made a commitment to Christ through baptism... and Megan was one of them!
How special to be part of her spiritual journey! I was crying and and a complete mess by this point.
After church we had dinner at Megan's boyfriend Ben's apartment.
It was a long busy weekend, but filled with family and I didn't get sick! Hope you all had a Happy Easter, He is Risen!

Baby GIRL Teune???
Greg and I have assumed that we are having a boy, based on the fact that he has two brothers and no sisters and out of his cousins on his dad's side there are eleven boys and one girl. We even have a name picked out if we have a boy and have not entertained the thought of having a girl. My in laws on the other hand...
When we told my mother in law we were pregnant she gave us these...
The other day we get a package from my father in law that says this...
And contains this...
I think our baby's grandparents are hoping for a girl... no pressure or anything right? :)

Spring Snow in Springfield
I am one of those people who thinks that snow is absolutely magical! I accepted the fact that when we moved further south to Springfield we probably would not get as much snow as we did when we lived in Independence. Well, I have been pleasantly surprised! We have had two other "snow days" before our Spring snow earlier this week. Here was what we woke up to on Wednesday morning :)
I think we ended up with a good 5" or so by the end of the the Spring snowstorm.
Hope you all enjoyed the snow as well! Now let's bring on the Spring sunshine!

Baby Teune Coming in October
We are so excited to share that we are pregnant! As some of you may know, we have been trying to start a family for a while now. What an incredible blessing it is to experience such a miracle! On February 7th I took two pregnancy tests...
I had the bottom test already at home to take, but when it came up positive I couldn't believe it and thought "I need something with words!" so I went to Target and bought another test that would say "yes" or "no." Of course as a week or so went by I thought, "what if I'm not really pregnant.." and I took yet another test...
Yep, still pregnant :) And as I know now, there can be false negatives but not false positives.
We had such a great time sharing the news with family. We drove out to Tillamook to share the news with Greg's mom and stepdad. Greg brought the book What to Expect When You're Expecting and started reading it on the couch. It only took Mona about five seconds to ask "What are you reading Greg?" He handed her the book and she started crying and screaming. She will be such a wonderful grandma. When we told Greg's dad and stepmom they were also very excited... his dad is convinced we are having a girl and keeps telling me "take care of my granddaughter!"
Luckily my sister Brittney and her husband Kyle were in Oregon when we were 7 weeks along so it was perfect timing to share the news. My mom had scheduled family photos at JcPenney and Greg and I asked the photographer if we could hold up a sign during the picture to share the big news. The photographer ended up taking a separate photo of just Greg and I. We were too cheap to purchase the photo, but reenacted it later...
When my family was looking at the computer monitor to choose the "best" photo from the shoot, our photo was the last to pop up. They were ecstatic! My sister has it on video and I will try to get it to add to this blog post later on.
We had our first appointment this morning and were able to hear the heartbeat... I feel like I can breathe easy now. For some reason I had this irrational fear that the midwife would tell me something like, "Yeah... you aren't pregnant... you were never pregnant." But all is well, we are a little over 10 weeks along, and our due date is actually October 8th now :)

Hawaiian Visitors
Well, I have been out of the blogosphere lately, but for good reason. My sister has been visiting from Hawaii for nearly 3 weeks and my brother in law Kyle was able to fly in and visit over President's Day weekend. It has been great to spend time with Britt and especially cherish the time together since I'm not sure when we'll see each other next.
When Britt visited Springfield, my aunt, uncle and cousins treated us to dinner at the Outback. I am so thankful to have family in Springfield!
Kyle only had about three days in Oregon, but Greg and I spent two of those days with he and Brittney and our family. We had dinner and game night at Kyle's parents on Saturday and then family photos with my family on Sunday (will post our awesome JcPenney's pics later).
Hoping to visit Britt and Kyle in Hawaii sometime soon. May not be for a year or so, but I think we owe them a visit since they came all the way out here right?
